Beckie Weinheimer, author of Converting Kate--Viking Books, American Library Association Best Books, Kliatt:Editors' Choice, Books of the Teen Age-NYPL, CBC Notable Book lives in New York City, with her husband. She has two adult daughters, three grand-dogs, loves swimming in freezing cold oceans and traveling. Since writing this poem she has traveled to the real Scotland—which was grand, but no finer than the Promenade in Santa Monica on a Friday Night! She’s currently working on two novels, one for children and one for adults. Her family is glad she writes, because when she doesn’t she’s not too easy to live with!
